•In 1966 while operating the family grocery business, T. R. Baker obtained his Life and Health license and began offering this service on a part-time basis.
•In 1968, Mr. Baker obtained his Property and Casualty license and along with his wife, Hazel, entered into the insurance business on a full-time basis.
•In 1980, the Baker’s son, Randy graduated from Southeast Missouri State University and began his insurance career with the family business.
•In 1981, the T. R. Baker Agency was incorporated and a Board of Directors was elected. The board consisted of the following:
T. R. Baker – Owner/President
Hazel Baker – Vice-President
Randy Baker-Secretary/Treasurer
•In 1981, Randy Baker obtained his real estate license and began offering real estate as a separate service of the T. R. Baker Agency.
•In 1984, Randy Baker was named President of T. R. Baker Agency with T. R. Baker as Vice-President and Hazel Baker as Secretary/Treasurer
•From 1984 the agency continued to grow in both business volume and number of licensed agents in Property/Casualty and Life/Health lines
•In 2004, Terry L. Baker joined the agency and a realignment of the Board of
Directors was established as follows:
T. R. Baker – Owner/CEO
Randy Baker – President
Terry Baker – Vice-President
Hazel Baker – Secretary/Treasurer
•Today, the T. R. Baker Agency consists of six (6) employees including four (4) full-time producers/agents; one (1) bookkeeper; and one (1) administrative assistant
